Mark VanGorder Obituary
Friends may call on Monday (July 28) from 4-6pm at the Cheney Funeral Home 70 Main Street Phelps. A memorial service will follow at 6pm.
It is requested that in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in memory of Mark to Geneva Living Center North 196 North Street Geneva, NY 14456.
Mark was born on February 14, 1959 in Waterloo, NY the son of the late Eugene and Linda French VanGorder. He was a retired driver for UPS covering the Geneva area. Mark also owned and operated Jones Memorials in Waterloo for many years. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed working with wood and refinishing antique furniture. Mark loved helping people especially in Oaks Corners where he was a member of the Oaks Corners Improvement Association. He and his wife restored the Oaks Corners Grange, he mowed the lawn at the Grange and also Armstrong Cemetery along with many other acts of kindness.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca VanGorder of Oaks Corners Daughter Brooke (James) VanHoute of Newark Grandchildren Garrett and Layton VanHoute Step-son Ryan (Mariah) Rickard of Manchester Step-grandchildren Emmett and Aria. 2 sisters Sue (Bart) Carbone of Seneca Falls Robin (Mike) Hughs of Florida Many nieces, nephews and extended family.
