Mark H. Wallace

Mark H. Wallace, husband of Ben Smith, passed away Tuesday April 15, 2025. He was born in Lexington, KY on January 7, 1958 and is survived by his sister, Linda Hudson Bailey, his two brothers Mike and Tommy Hudson, and his daughter Nikki Paley. Mark was a hairdresser for over 45 years in Lexington, KY and loved working outdoors in his gardens as his hobby. He and Ben met on September 21, 1996 and were married on September 17, 2016 at their home in Lexington where 187 friends and family attended. Just a few months prior to meeting Mark Ben wrote a poem, which he believes was a call out for Mark, and yes, Mark was waiting for his soul mate as well.

With the passing of winter snow,
As the ice melts down to become once more the sea.
A love quest forms within my soul
To return those feelings you had once given to me.
Soaring over mountain tops, Resting in the bough of trees...
My search for you must go on!

Ben plans to wait until a later time to schedule a celebration of life event in honor of Mark. Details will be forthcoming in the near future.
