Dudley Mark Whipple, age 70, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born November 26, 1954 in Las Vegas to Elson Jay and Elaine Hardy Whipple. On September 3, 1976 he married Dianne Heaton in the St. George LDS Temple.

Mark lived most of his life in Logandale. In High School, Mark participated in sports, theater, the debate team, student council, and FFA. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Southern Utah State College in Cedar City, Utah. After graduating, Mark and Dianne moved to Logandale where they raised their three children; Jessica, Jennifer, and Jay D. Mark worked for Knudsen Dairy for a few years. He then moved on from that role and worked at Whipple Concrete for thirteen years, as the office manager. In 2000, Mark started his own pest control business. Mark had many hobbies and was passionate about learning. Whatever he did, he did with his whole heart. Mark loved the outdoors and grew up hunting and fishing with his dad, brother, uncles, and cousins. He later hunted with his son and son-in-law. Mark went on an African Safari hunt in August of 2003. Mark enjoyed photography and documenting the places he visited. He was an avid UNLV Rebels fan, holding season tickets for the Runnin' Rebels. Mark attended quilting classes and pieced several quilts. He taught himself how to do tatting and leather work, making wallets, coin purses, computer bags, etc. Mark spent hours researching recipes and would test out different dishes and baked items until he got them just the way he liked them. Mark enjoyed gardening and especially loved to eat a freshly picked tomato from his garden. One of his favorite things to do was to plan the lunch or dinner menu for family parties or events. He took guitar lessons and most recently taught himself how to play the ukulele. He loved the arts and shared that love with his wife, children, and grandchildren, attending Las Vegas Philharmonic concerts, as well as plays and musicals at the Smith Center, Tuacahn, and the Shakespeare Festival. More than anything, Mark loved his family. He adored and loved to brag about his three perfect grandchildren.

Always faithful, Mark served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Eastern States mission. Through the years, he served as Sunday School President and Elder's Quorum President. He especially loved teaching Sunday School to the young adults and serving as the executive secretary to Bishop Delmar Leatham.

Survivors include his wife, Dianne of Logandale; two daughters, Jessica of Cedar City, UT; Jennifer (Leo) Farnsworth; son, Jay (Becky) both of Logandale; three grandchildren: Ellie and Vincent Farnsworth, and Jayson Whipple; sister, Janet (Tim) Kelly of Las Vegas and sister in law, Jean Whipple of Bunkerville, NV. Mark was greeted into Heaven by his parents Jay and Elaine Whipple, and older brother Elwin.
