Mark Daniel Wright

Mark Daniel Wright, 57, of Lexington, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on September 2, 2024. He was born on March 22, 1967, in Chillicothe, Ohio. Mark's life was one of service and craftsmanship. As the CEO of Central Rock Corporation in New Orleans, Louisiana, he demonstrated his intelligence and leadership daily. His commitment to his country was evident through his service in the Army National Guard Reserves, a duty he performed with honor and dedication. Mark attended the University of Kentucky where he excelled in creative writing. His skill as a craftsman was not just a profession but a calling, as he found joy in working with his hands, whether it was in his beloved garden or in the many projects that showcased his handiness.
Known for his selfless nature, Mark never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need. His witty personality brought laughter and light to all who knew him, and his love for the Cincinnati Reds was a testament to his unwavering loyalty. He also took to the sunny blue skies as an avid sky diver, enjoying the riveting views the horizons had to offer.
Above all, Mark's heart belonged to his family. He is survived by his children, Seth Wright, and Nichole Woodcock; his parents, Daniel Wright Jr., and JoAnn Gerrin; brother, Mike Wright; sisters, Theresa Riley, and Tracie Worman; his cherished grandson, Lukas Woodcock; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever remember his profound impact on their lives.
In the words of Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose; all that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Mark's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the indelible mark he left on the hearts of those he touched. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on through the memories he created with his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mark's memory are suggested to Let's Roll Kentucky. A funeral service for Mark will be held on Friday, September 06, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 463 East Main Street, Lexington, Kentucky, 40507. Visitation will be the same day from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the funeral Home. Interment will follow on Saturday, September 07, 2024, at 11:30 A.M. with military honors at The Lexington Cemetery, 833 West Main Street, Lexington, Kentucky, 40508.
