Mark Wyant, age 60 , passed away unexpectedly at his home at the Cambrian, on Sunday, September 18, 2016. He was born on July 9, 1956, to the late Wib and Marti (Longlott) Wyant. He was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Kathy. Mark and his faithful canine friend, Sammie, were well known in Jackson County. Mark never met a stranger. He was a social member at the Jackson VFW. He is survived by his sister, Diane Black, her sons Tony Wood and Brandon Black, his daughters Rachael (Matt) Dunbar, grandson Austin age 13, grand-daughter Shanice age 22 (Brian) Taufer and their daughter Sophia age 1, his daughter Sarah Hooker and her son Benjamin age 10. He is also survived by his cousin that he dearly loved, Nan and her husband Don Allen. The family will receive friends at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Thursday, September 22, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Jackson County Dog Pound, 275 Portsmouth Street, Jackson, Ohio 45640. Met Mark, several years ago in Jackson while out riding motorcycles. He was setting at a restaurant we stopped at and we chatted for a while.

When we left he followed us on his bike for a while then turned off on a road.

Later, Mark called me and told me that something we had said to him, along with the friendly conversation, that he wanted to accept Christ in his life.

We were blessed and fortunate to be in that part of his life. Through time we became good friends, visited his house, rode together on trips and enjoyed each other's company.

Loved the man, his laugh, smile and his heart.
