Marla Y. Danels, 63, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Thursday morning, January 16, 2025, at Stillwater Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
She was born on January 18, 1961, in Decatur, Indiana to the late Jesse P. and Ida L. (Combs) Danels.
Marla was employed by EP Graphics in Berne for several years.
She was a fun-loving individual. She took great pride in her grandchildren. She valued the time spent at the lakes, fishing, and spending time outside. She was very fond of Angel, her service dog, and they were inseparable. But, among all her joys in life, whether with her family or with her friends she benefitted the most when helping others.
Marla is survived by her son, Josh (Niki) Eckhart of Decatur, Indiana; brother, D. Kirk Danels of New Haven, Indiana; brother, Jeffrey A. (Kim Vickers) Danels of Decatur, Indiana; and two grandchildren, Marita Eckhart, and Jodiah Eckhart.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christina Danels; and two brothers, Ben Danels and Gary Danels.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana with Pastor Dave Fox officiating.
Friends and family are invited to share memories of Marla with her family from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials can be given to the Adams County Cancer Coalition or Stillwater Hospice.
