Marlena R. Dalton (Vance) 71 of Indianapolis Indiana, passed away on March 13, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. She was born on November 28, 1952, to her late parents Donald & Ivy Vance in Muncie, Indiana.
Marlena dedicated many years of her life working as a quality supervisor for Stratospher (formerly Product Action), showcasing her commitment to excellence until her retirement in 2011. Her proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly centered around her family; she adored and spoiled her children and grandchildren endlessly.
In addition to her successful career and devotion to family, Marlena cultivated a vibrant personality that will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Feisty, loving, and giving, she was a loyal friend who offered unwavering support through all of life's challenges.
Outside of work and family, Marlena pursued various hobbies and interests that brought her joy. From crafting to riding her beloved horse Skip, fostering animals for several organizations, traveling to the beach to relish the ocean breeze, and indulging in the thrill of SHOPPING!! – each activity reflected different facets of her vibrant spirit.
Marlena is survived by her daughters, Stephanie (Aaron) Dalton-Freeman, daughter Lucille Dalton-Koss, granddaughters, Haley Monday, Brooklyn (Alex) Cannaday, Cheyenne (Geoff) Jonas, Sophi Koss, Cassandra Rose (Cassie), grandson, Paul Koss, and great-grandchildren, Ivy Rose, Kaydance, Daniel, Callie, Gunner, Kyler, Parker Rose, She treasured the bond shared with sisters not connected by blood but by love and true friendship – Sharon Trent and Jeretta O'Haver, and her 4 surviving siblings.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Donald Dalton, parents; Donald & Ivy Vance, grandson; Zackery Freeman, nephews; Robbie Vance and Mickey Vance, and a great grandchild born sleeping.
Marlena's zest for life and deep love for those around her will remain an enduring legacy that continues to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known and loved her.
Visitation for family for family and friends will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Flanner Buchanan-Decatur Township from 11am until the time of funeral service at 2pm. Burial to follow at West Newton Cemetery where she will be reunited next to her husband.
