Edna Desautels (Marlene's Sister)
January 24, 2019
I'm so sorry I couldn't be there to say goodbye Marlene but I was there in my heart. It was such a shock too hear my sister passed away... I had just talked to her two days before and then she was gone. Marlene was a great sister who had a big heart and was always there to listen. When I think back, we didn't get along too well when we were young, as is true with many sisters, but as we grew up and got married, we also grew to be best friends. Our families would go on vacation together, we did many things as families do, with all of our children.
I love her so much and I hope you won't mind me sharing a funny story about that sister of mine. She always had Thanksgiving dinner at their house. The meat stuffing was the highlight of the meal. Don would be in the kitchen getting things going. Marlene announced to sit down as dinner was ready. There was enough food to feed an army. We all sat down to all the wonderful food that was on the table. Marlene said, "Hey why isn't anyone eating?" We all looked at her and said WHERE'S THE STUFFING?!?! She said "OH MY GOD, it's still in the fridge!" Boy did we all get a good laugh at that..Marlene did too. Thank goodness for microwaves.
Marlene was also known for her baking.. Her nephew David said Antie Marlene made the best apple cake! You never went hungry at Don and Marlene s house. Marlene was a great sister who I will never forget and will always love. Marlene you were so strong you were in so much pain and never complained . NO MORE PAIN SWEETHEART... you are with your little baby David and the Lord now. It's not good bye, it's till we meet again. I love you and will miss you. Marlene, I do have one request though, when you see Des please give him a hug and a kiss for me.
Rest in peace,
Your loving sister Edna.
I also want to say "Thank you too Don...for always being there for Marlene!" You took care of her 24/7. Don you loved my sister so much and you had a fantastic marriage. She loved you and you're the best husband...One in a million.

I am so sorry Donald & Linda. I just saw on the online obituaries that Marlene died. I am in shock. We always chatted when we ran into each other . She was such a wonderful woman, wife and Mom! She will be sadly missed.
