Marlene R. Blank

Funeral service will be held 6 PM Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Marlene R. Blank, 71, of Austintown who passed away Saturday afternoon at Humility House. Marlene was born November 2, 1940 in Youngstown the daughter of William H. and Violet (Nelson) Jenkins and was a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of The Rayen School class of 1958 and had worked for the State of Ohio Bureau of Worker Compensation as a Claims Word Processor until her retirement in 2000, after 15 years of service. She attended First Free Will Baptist Church in Austintown and also the Youngstown Women's Connection, a Christian women's association. Her husband Russell R. Blank, Sr., whom she married July 2, 1960, passed away December 4, 1991. Marlene leaves two children, Russell (Sheila) Blank Jr. of Niles and Renae (Bill) James of Boardman, one sister Ruth H. Grey of Costa Mesa, CA., five grandchildren Dana, Amanda, and Megan Blank and Kailee and Reed James. Marlene also leaves a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Wilma Connell of Youngstown, a cousin, Sis Menichini of New Middletown, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Marlene is preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Jenkins. Friends may call from 4 to 6 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
