Marlene Kay Booton, beloved mother and grandmother (a/k/a "Mimi"), of Magnolia, Texas, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 28th, 2023.
Marlene was born on March 10, 1944, in Forest City, Missouri, to the late Fredrick A. Lawrence and Elsie Mae Lawrence.
Marlene came to Dover in the early 1970's as a military wife and made it her home. She worked as a bookkeeper for General Metalcraft, was the face of Quick Car Wash for many years and later worked as a receptionist at local law firm. She was an avid lover of crafts, a master seamstress, a green thumb gardener and a home improvement "do it yourselfer" extraordinaire. She was always busy with a project and took pleasure in helping family and friends do the same. She enjoyed bowling, playing games, and travelling. Above all, she cherished her family and loved nothing more than having everyone gathered around her table.
Marlene is survived by her son, Paul A. Booton of Ocean View, Delaware; daughter, Marcie K. Simons and her husband, Ernest, of Magnolia, Texas; daughter-in-law, Brandie Booton of Dover, Delaware; grandchildren, Caitlyn Booton, Christopher Booton, Olivia Booton, James Simons, Amy Booton, Michael Booton and Kay Booton; and three great-grandchildren.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Booton, and her son, Michael J. Booton.
Services for Marlene will be private with a Celebration of Life to be announced. If you would like to share a memory or leave a condolence, please visit www.eickenhorstfuneral.com/obituaries.
