Marlene J. Crenshaw Brewer passed away on September 15, 2025.

She was born August 28, 1937, in Illinois. She became a member of the Arenzville United Methodist Church when she was nine years old. She always attended church where she resided. She enjoyed being a member of the The Nett Church at Berkmar and at Bethesda (UMC). She enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and most of all caring for her family.

She held a Bachelor of Science from Illinois College and attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She graduated from Baton Rouge General Hospital School of Medical Technology in Baton Rouge. She was a certified microbiologist and worked at the University of Missouri Medical Center as well as South Fulton Hospital, Southwest Atlanta Clinic, Newnan Hospital, and Atlanta Medical Center (formerly Georgia Baptist Hospital) in the Atlanta area.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Mary Joeckel. She is survived by her daughter Christina (Bill) Hannah, her beloved granddaughter Sophia, and two sisters Marilee (Jim) Mertins of Ames, Iowa and Melba Jane Stocker of Jacksonville, Illinois.

Her family is grateful for her sewing and quilting friend group, Sunday School class members, and Women's and Prayer group members who shared their lives, presence and cards with Mrs. Brewer over the years.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the Nett Church at Bethesda from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow visitation at 11:00 AM. A luncheon for friends and family will be held following the service. Mrs. Brewer will be laid to rest at a private interment.

Expressions of sympathy in the form of flowers or memorial contributions made to Prayers and Squares quilting ministry, The Nett Church at Berkmar, 675 Pleasant Hill Road, Lilburn, Georgia 30047, are appreciated.
