MILFORD - On March 17, 2023, Gay Dean Morrison, peacefully passed away at his home.
He was born on May 27, 1939 in Hillsboro, WV, to the late Sommers Milton Morrison and Amanda Dean Morrison.
Gay was raised in Rainelle, W.V., before becoming a long time resident of College Point, New York. He was a Scout Master of many years there.
After retiring from MABSTOA in 2005, he and his wife Dolores moved to their dream home in Milford in 2015. Gay loved to spend his days bowling, dancing, gardening, mowing his lawn, fishing, hunting, traveling, and going on cruises. He loved to spend time with his family, his friends, and his dogs.
Mr. Morrison has inspired so many lives with his laughter, sincerity, kindness. "Just pull up a chair and lets talk attitude". He will be missed by many, yet embraced by many more in heaven. Raise some good hell in heaven. Take me home country roads, West Virginia! We will always look for the signs!
Mr. Morrison is survived by his wife of 43 years, Dolores Morrison. He is also survived by his daughter, Erena O'Brien, and her husband, Jack O'Brien; his granddaughters, Andrea Cordella and her husband John, Meaghann Nolff and her husband David, Erena Gay O'Brien, Brianna O'Brien, Danielle O'Brien, and Rebecka O'Brien; his great grandchildren, Shea, Liam, Aurora and Connor; his sister in law, Mary Wadolowski and her husband Tom; and his nieces, Kathy and Michelle.
Gay was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Johnnie Morrison and his wife Diane, Milton Morrison and his wife Eileen; his sister, Lena Myers and her husband Bob; and his grandson, Patrick Timothy O'Brien.
The family will receive visitors at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford, from 2PM to 5PM and 7PM to 9PM on Wednesday 3/22 and 10AM to 11AM on Thursday 3/23, with a funeral service starting at 11AM. Cremation to follow.
