MARLENE JOAN CANNON

November 11, 1934 – November 23, 2025

Marlene was born November 11, 1934 to Albert and Lena Ginnelli. She peacefully passed away November 23, 2025. She grew up in Bakersfield and attended Lakeside School and Bakersfield High.

In 1953 she married John Cannon and they were married 63 years. Marlene worked for Lakeside School district for many years in multiple jobs, but her primary job in life was wife and mother, as she was very devoted to her family.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Lena Ginnelli, brother Albert and Betty Ginnelli, sister Shirley and Victor Moccardini and son in law James Swank.

She is survived by son David Cannon and daughter Lisa Swank, grandchildren Nicholas Barker (Macalla), Gregory Barker, (Alyssa), Tyler Swank (Haleigh), and numerous great-grandchildren.

Marlene will be missed by all. Graveside services will be held December 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Greenlawn Southwest, 2739 Panama Lane. The family would like to thank Optimal Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society.
