Marlene was born on October 4th, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA. She was a daughter, sister, wife and mother. Outgoing, confident and high-spirited, she became a cheerleader in high school. It was then that she met the love of her life, Tony Frangelli Jr. Their romance lasted 66 years. They married in May of 1959, when she was only 21 years old. The following year they welcomed their first child, Maria. Anthony III was born the next year. Tragedy hit 6 years later when they lost their son, hit by a car near the house. It was an accident, but nearly broke Marlene. Her strength helped her endure the loss with grace. In spite of her grief, she was always supportive of Maria and her endeavors.

In her 30's Marlene became an Astrology enthusiast. She taught herself to do astrological charts for friends and family. It was always a topic of conversation when meeting new people. She always asked your birthday. She knew the characteristics of each sign and could size you up in an instant. She enjoyed challenging her mind with crossword puzzles and games shows. She was a big Phillie's fan, along with Tony. They never missed a game on tv.

In her 50's she supported Tony, a talented baker and cake decorator, who became a business owner of his father's bakery. Frangelli's Bakery has been in business since 1947, serving the south Philly community. She worked alongside him for 15 years, helping wherever she was needed. Some of her duties included taking cake orders over the phone, balancing the cash register, creating cookie trays, and waiting on customers. Her vivacious personality was perfect for such a role, often stealing her husband's spotlight. Tenacious and determined, she earned the nickname FIESTY. She was tiny but mighty.

Marlene has left a large void in the lives of the people who loved her.

Rest in peace.
