Our sincere sympathy for Marlenes' family, she will be missed by all that knew her. I got to know Marlene through her older brothers during our high school days. During the past eight to ten years Marlene was a very active member of our AHS Alumni Rally Planning Committee. We could always count on her involvement. We had numerous meetings at the McMillian Library regarding the rally and many other subjects often including garden flowers. Marlene was truly a great person and cared a great deal about others..

Aunt Marlene will be known for her huge smile and cheerful upbeat personality. She will be remembered for loving family, she always referred to Grandpa as daddy and I found that very endearing. When she hosted Christmas at her house and you walked through the front door, she was right there with a wide smile and huge hug that went on forever. Her hugs were filled with love and you felt it!

Several years ago Marlene started crocheting little kitchen scrubbers. I thought they were cute and very useful. I ordered over two dozen and handed them out to friends and then my friends wanted more so they could hand out to friends. My orders kept Marlene busy. I still use them and will always think of her when I do.

I'm attaching a photo of Marlene from the '60s because she looks so beautiful. She always had thick hair which I loved. I have been told by family members that I look like Marlene and that is a compliment I accept!

I will miss our text messages as we talked a lot about gardening and other crafty ideas.

God bless you, Aunt Marlene, you will always be loved and remain in our hearts.

Aunt Marlene was my baptism sponsor. As a child it meant that I felt a special bond with her. I remember that one year she made me a terrarium for Christmas; I was thrilled! I also received a complete nativity set with a crèche made by uncle Jim that has been a part of every Christmas in our family. She valued family and in many ways I´ve tried to model my life like hers. I´m so sorry I can´t attend the funeral. I love you Marlene and thank you for all the love and support you´ve given us through the years.
