Marlene Heptinstall Obituary
Marlene Sue Heptinstall, 76, of Roanoke, passed away to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 24, 2011.
She was a member of Waverly Place Baptist Church where she was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class, a graduate of the Lewis-Gale Medical School of Nursing where she received her Registered Nursing degree, and retired after 42 years of service.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd C. Heptinstall; her parents, Clyde and Ethel Young; a sister, Helen Young Martin; and a brother, William Young.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Heptinstall Merrick and her husband, Daniel; a son, L. Mark Heptinstall and his wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Jack, Michael, and Kellie Heptinstall; step-grandchildren, Myles, Katie and Ty Dodd; two brothers, Larry Young and his wife, Elsie, and Kenneth Young and his wife, Nancy, several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bill and Peggy Lane, Dr. Randolph Merrick, and Scott and Mitsy Nichols.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Oakey's North Chapel with Dr. E. Wayne Sellers officiating.
Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.

My condolences to Sue's (that's how I knew her) family. I worked with Sue in Dr. Milton Miller's office at Lewis-Gale Clinic from 1976 to 1983. She taught me much about caring for and about people. She will be missed. God bless you all!

To Sue's Family:
All the years I worked at FMC Friendship
Dialysis Center I knew Sue. She was a great lady. I loved to talk with her and
she always gave me a nice bag of that great party mix of hers each Christmas. I thought a lot of Sue and my deepest
sympathy I express to her daugher and
her son and their family members. She
was missed at FMC Friendship Dialysis Center when she moved to Charlottesville.
I shall always have fond memories of Sue
and also of Lindy who was so faithful in
bringing her to and from dialysis when he
was living. I will be thinking of you in the days and weeks to come.
