Marlene D'Leah Jones, 91, former Altus resident, went to be with her Lord on Friday, November 7, 2025, in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Marlene was born on May 17, 1934, in Altus, Oklahoma, to M. R. and Mary Lorene (Kizziar) Tally. She grew up in Altus and attended Altus schools. She worked at Anthony's for many years and for Jackson County Memorial Hospital as a Medical Records Coding Specialist before retiring. Marlene was devoted to her family and did everything she needed to make sure they were provided for. She was a very giving woman that would give generously to those in need, even if she had to go without. Marlene loved being a mother and was proud of her kids and grandkids. Throughout her retirement from JCMH, she enjoyed traveling with her children and participating in family activities. She was her grandchildren's best friend and maintained a close relationship with family and friends. She provided guidance and support regardless of the situation to all and always suggested lots of love and patience. She and Lynette moved together to Oklahoma City several years ago to be close to their family. She and Lynette were able to visit every state. Everywhere she went the foot traffic would separate for her to pass as if they knew that the true sophisticated class was passing. However, she maintained her love for Altus the rest of her life and was proud of her Altus roots and heritage.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jason Siniard; a sister, Billie Akins; and a brother, Carl Tally.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Cindy Hall and husband, Louis, Lynette Jones, and Timothy Jones and wife, Cindy; three grandchildren, Julie Kennedy and husband, Brad, Adam Jones, and Candice Jones and Caleb Dommert; eight great grandchildren, Joshua, Dylan, Logan, Emily, Ryder, Harper, Lilly, and Heidi; a brother, Norman Tally; her nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:00 PM Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Douglas O. Melton officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the care of the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory.
