Marlene Kaminski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Anthony G. Staab Funeral Home on Jan. 19, 2026.
Marlene Ann (Dayton) Kaminski "Sis", "Sissy", a loving wife, mom, nana, and grand nana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the age of 87. She was a generous and loving wife, mom, and grandmother who enjoyed a happy life in the West End/Elliott area.

Sis is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Joe Kaminski, daughters Terri Barger (the late Bob), Lori Brooks (David), and Ann Marie Kern (Dave). Sister to Alice "Petey" DeMatty (the late Charles), Will Dayton (Diane), the late Jim Dayton (Holly) and the late Les Dayton. Sister-in-law to the late Tony Kaminski (late Marlene) and Thom Kaminski (Marsue). She will also be missed by countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Her greatest joy was being a Nana and Grand Nana to Emily, (Mike), Marino and Robbie Pawlos; Anna (Thomas) Marcie and Alden Meighan; Olivia Barger; Jessica (Jeff), Mabel and Madeline Davis, Josh (Jamie), Oliver, Scarlett, Henry and Ella Brooks; Sammie Kern (Oscar), Riley Kern (Alex), and Finn; and her grand-dog Carl.

Marlene was a hardworking woman who liked to stay busy. She supported her daughters through college by working at the Senior Center of St. Mary's Church and spent countless hours of volunteering at Guardian Angels and St. Stanislaus Kostka Churches, where she shared her expertise of pierogi making.

Although she embraced Joe's Polish heritage, she was proud of her Irish birthright. We ask that those who attend her funeral wear green in honor and celebration of her.

Family and friends received on Wednesday, January 21st from 5-7 pm and on Thursday, January 22nd, from 3-7 p.m. at ANTHONY G. STAAB FUNERAL HOME INC., 900 Chartiers Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15220. (Family owned since 1886.) A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Marlene's life will be celebrated on Friday, January 23rd at 10:45 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 57 21st St., Pittsburgh, PA 15222. Burial to follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
