Marlene Kaspari Obituary
Marlene was born in Fargo, ND on August 13, 1933, to Leo and Violet Wavra. She grew up on a farm west of Alice, ND, attended grade school in Lucca, ND and high school in Enderlin, ND graduating as salutatorian in 1951. She married Ken Kaspari September 19, 1953 in Alice, ND. They farmed near Lisbon from 1953 to 1964 when Ken became the greenskeeper at the Lisbon Golf Course. Marlene began working at the golf course in 1966 taking over the management of the club house. They worked together until retiring in 1992. She enjoyed golfing, crafts, gardening, researching family history and reading books. Marlene enjoyed time at the family lake cabin and spending time with the kids and grandkids.
She is survived by her children Lynn (Charlene) Lisbon, Dan (Julie) Cedar Rapids, IA, Barb (Bob) Hardy Hermosa, SD, Diane (Paul) Urbach Pelican Rapids, MN and Nancy, Moorhead, MN. Eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and sister-in-law Lorraine Dilling.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ken, sister Elaine and brother-in-law John Opland, brothers and sisters-in-law Don (LaVonne), Al (Karon), Harley (Barb), Wayne (Darlene) Kaspari and Darrel Dilling.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Lisbon. Burial will be at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery near Lisbon. Marlene's service will be live streamed.
Memorials in Marlene's memory may be directed to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
