Marlene J. Kostick

Jensen Beach - Marlene J. Kostick, 82, passed away peacefully at home on March 23, 2026, surrounded by her children who loved and adored her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, gratitude, and a life dedicated to nurturing those around her.

Born on November 6, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, Marlene spent most of her career as an administrative secretary in the Martin County School System's maintenance department. After retiring in 2009, she loved volunteering at nearby Jensen Beach Elementary School, caring for her many plants, taking walks, assembling puzzles, and treasuring time with her grandsons. Above all, she was a devoted mother whose greatest joy was found in the happiness of her children. Her home and heart were always open, and her gentle guidance, support, and strength anchored the foundation of her family's life.

She is survived by her three children, Teresa Benner (Matthew), Robert Kostick Jr., and Mary Kostick; two grandchildren, Owen and Graham Benner; brother, Charles Hagen; and nephew Charles Hagen Jr. (Julia). She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Genevieve Hagen and niece, Heather Rogus.

Marlene will be cherished as a beautiful, soft-spoken, and fun-loving mother, daughter, "Granny," sister, aunt, and friend who appreciated sunny days, blooming flowers, and the simple pleasures of life.

She was privately laid to rest in Forest Hills Cemetery, Palm City, Florida on Thursday, March 26. To honor Marlene's memory, the family suggests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or, in the spirit of her love for children, simply taking the time to sit and read a book with a child.
