Publish in a newspaper

Marlene (Marzy) McIntosh, 69, of Bellingham, Washington, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025, surrounded by her family while camping at Baker Lake, a place she dearly loved.

Born on November 25, 1955, in Bellingham, Marlene was the daughter of Dude Weston and Marion Weston. She spent her early childhood between Alaska and Washington before her family permanently settled in Whatcom County on Labor Day of 1964. A lifelong resident of Whatcom County, Marlene was deeply rooted in her community and cherished her Northwest home.

On December 14, 1984, Marlene married the love of her life, Dave McIntosh. Together, they built a home and family filled with love, laughter, and devotion. She was a proud mother to Isaac McIntosh and Jason McIntosh, and later welcomed her daughter-in-law, Shalane, and her grandsons, Jaden and Jordan, who brought her immense joy.

Marlene worked at Samson Rope Technologies in Ferndale for just over 45 years, where she built lasting friendships and contributed with dedication and pride. Outside of work, she embraced life to the fullest. She loved camping, swimming, hiking, biking, gardening, karaoke, singing, dancing, thrifting, being a "Parrothead," and spending time with friends and family. Her warmth and energy made her the heart of every gathering.

Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Marlene was a longtime member of Christ the King Church, where she served as an Awana leader, sang joyfully in the choir, and often served as a greeter, giving warm hugs.

Marlene is survived by her loving husband, Dave McIntosh; sons, Isaac McIntosh and Jason (Shalane) McIntosh; grandsons, Jaden and Jordan McIntosh; siblings Dale (Jani) Weston, Marion (Peter) Weston-Marinelli, John (Tracy)Weston, Joanne Weston, Eric Weston, and Randy Hiramoto; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dude and Marion Weston; niece, Stephany Weston; nephews, Bryan Bogaards, Hunter Hayes, and Tanner Hayes.

Marlene's life was defined by her generosity, her zest for living, and her love of family. She will be remembered as a strong, kind, and vibrant woman whose legacy lives on in all who knew her.

A Celebration to honor Marlene's life will be held at 11:00, on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Christ the King Bellingham, 4173 Meridian Street, Bellingham, WA. Reception to immediately follow at the Broadway Hall, 1300 Broadway, Bellingham, WA 98226. Share your memories of Marlene and sign the online guest register.
