Marlene Nicholson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Vaughn Greene Funeral Services - Randallstown on Apr. 24, 2024.
Marlene Hazel Nicholson, daughter of the late Richard and Hazel Alton, was born on May 12, 1941 in Baltimore. She departed this life peacefully on April 16th 2024 surrounded by her family. Marlene had four sisters Shirley, Margaret, Carolyn, Sissy, and two brothers Bobby and Rickie
At a young age Marlene went to live with her Aunt Lena and Uncle Wesley Purnell. Aunt Lena was affectionately known as Other-ma. Marlene received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She worked briefly, but the job she esteemed most highly was that of a mother. She began her journey of motherhood in 1958, and married George Nicholson, who preceded her in death. She had a positive outlook on life, and greeted everyone with a smile on her face. Marlene was a devoted mother, and grandmother and there was nothing she wouldn't do for her family. She was there for each phase of her grandchildren's life. She enjoyed family gatherings and some of her favorite foods were blue crabs, watermelon, fried chicken, and drinking a Pepsi (cold or room temperature).
Marlene joined Mount Pleasant Church and Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Clifford M. Johnson, Jr. and faithfully attended church until she became ill. She loved the Lord, going to church to hear the Word of God, listening to the Choir, and Gospel music.
Marlene leaves to mourn her children, Robert, Darlene, Debbie, Penny and Pamela. Her brother Bobby, sister in law Joyce, son in law Harvey, four grandchildren Melika, Towanda, LaTia and Michael, seven great grandchildren, Anthony, Darius, Sterling, Keira, Logan, Tavon and Desmond who both preceded her in death, along with a host of cousins, and other relatives.
We want to give an expression of thanks and gratitude to Melika Jordan for the consistent care and love she provided to her grandmother during her illness.
May God continue to Bless you.
