POWELL -- Marlys L. Cuzzocrea passed away peacefully at home July 3rd, 2023 in Powell, Ohio.
Marlys was an avid bridge player and participated in numerous clubs and tournaments throughout her life. She spent a great deal of her life volunteering for school and community activities and events. She often gave back and supported the community through efforts such as delivering for Meals on Wheels, supporting the local gardening club, helping fundraising efforts for the Humane Society and adopting local seniors in need of friendship and support. In her later years she enjoyed traveling, especially cruising, as well as cross country road trips to visit with family.
She is survived by sons, Terry Cuzzocrea (Becky) and Mark Cuzzocrea (Shawna); daughter, Cheryl Ryan (Mike); grandchildren, Jennifer Cuzzocrea, Jessica Baker (Mike), Alicia Ostermeyer (Matt), Ashton Rohrer (Ben), Jacqueline Burress (Eric), Hayden Ryan, Nathan Ryan, and Macey Ryan; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Karon Johnson, Jamie Merrill, Leslie DiVito (Joe); brother, David Merrill (Penny); and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Don Cuzzocrea; parents, Orren and Majorie Merrill; and sister, Renee Merrill.
Services will be held graveside at Union Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
