Marlys J. Nesbitt, 85, of Humboldt, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the Marion Home in Fort Dodge.
Marlys J. Dencklau was born June 18, 1940 at Vincent. She attended country school, Newark #9, 1st thru 8th grade, then graduating from Fort Dodge High School in 1958. After graduating she went to work for Sieg – Fort Dodge Company, Seyer Manufacturing, Hotsy, Bob Mickey Motors which was later B & N Auto Sales. Marlys retired in 2018.
Marlys was married to John W. Nesbitt on January 27, 1962 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Colfax. The same church where she was baptized, confirmed and regularly attended. They made their home in the Lanyon / Harcourt area moving to Humboldt in 1965. John passed away on March 27, 2008.
Marlys is survived by her son, Michael J. Nesbitt, Humboldt, sister Joann Hammitt Lehigh, sister-in-law Janet Dencklau, Fort Dodge, several nieces and nephew. Preceding her in death was her husband, John parents Erhart (Mike) and Emma Dencklau, brother, Charles Dencklau and brother-in-law Orville Hammitt.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 3rd at Union Cemetery in Humboldt. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2nd at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. www.masonlindhart.com
