Marnie-Lynn Common passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at the age of 52 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 11 years Tom; children Rob Peterson and Michelle Sauve; grandson Elijah; mother Marilyn Hoshko; father John Blain; sisters Sabrina Hoshko (Chris) of Hanmer, ON, and Tabatha Hurst (Rob), of Calgary, AB; brother-in-law Lee Common (Shannon) of Revelstoke, BC; uncles Mike Hoshko and Brian Hoshko; aunts Carolynn Brouillette and Judy Hall; nieces and nephews Hunter Hurst, Aiden Pacello, Danikah Paquette, Lincoln Common, Lennox Common and Solomon Moorhead; and many more family and friends.
Marnie was born and raised in Sudbury, ON and moved to Calgary shortly after poking Tom on facebook at her mothers recommendation. They fell in love quickly and married on May 3, 2014. Marnie lived with kidney disease for many years before receiving a transplant in 2012. It didn't take long for her to enjoy her new life with a new kidney and found a job she enjoyed, bookkeeping. She then discovered her love of crafting and soon their home was full of crafting supplies. Eventually Marnie took the plunge and created her own businesses. One of which was the Bliss Bridal Show that she loved putting on.
In October 2024 Marnie was diagnosed with Melanoma. She fought so very hard, but after a year it had spread to her brain. Marnie will be remembered and greatly missed for her generosity, her willingness to help, and giving her opinions freely. But most of all she will be remembered for her amazing heart that was always overflowing with love.
A Celebration of Marnie's Life will be held at a later date to be announced. If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Marnie to either the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca) or the Kidney Foundation of Canada (www.kidney.ca).
