Arlie "Marsh" Marshall, age 80, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, at his home. He was born in Wayne County, WV to Harold and Rena (Thornton) Marshall on April 14, 1945. Marsh grew up in the Pomeroy and Ironton, OH area and then moved to Columbus and then to Lancaster. He worked for many years with Buckeye Restoration as a carpenter and electrician. He was a devoted member of the Full Gospel Sons of God Church in Columbus. If the church doors were open, he was there. He loved to hunt and watch deer. Marsh was known to be extremely helpful around the church and even fed the homeless for several years. He was eager to trade his electrical work for a good, home-cooked meal. He was a simple man and "old school".
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary (Van Horn) Marshall; children, Wendy Landefeld, of Columbus, Rena Marshall, of Columbus, Tommy "Tank" (Bonnie) Marshall, of Columbus, Bo (Linda) Moore, Columbus, Tim (Tonia) Moore, of Raleigh, NC, Joyce Stenger, of Cincinnati, Alford Lee (Joyce) Mathes, of Lancaster, Travis (Irene) Mathes, of Lancaster, Micah (Mary) Mathes, of Franklin Furnace, and Kimberly (Rick) Paskins, of Lancaster; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; brothers, Dane Marshall, and Richard (Helen) Marshall, both of TX; sisters, Barb Karr, of TX, Naomi (Fred) Barbari, of IN, and June Marshall, of Ironton; and many other family and friends who called him papaw and looked up to him as a dad. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Benny Marshall and Glen Marshall; sister, Lorna Marshall.
Public Viewing will be held Monday, February, 9, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Full Gospel Sons Of God, 1665 Harrisburg Pike, Columbus, OH 43223. Funeral Service will follow at 12:30 PM Monday at the church with Pastor Michael Harding officiating. Interment will follow at Amanda Township Cemetery.
Friends may make memorial contributions to the Helping Hands Food Pantry at the Full Gospel Sons of God Church.
