Marsha Lynn Banks-Harrell passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026. She was born on March 27, 1955, in Fayette County, Georgia, to the late Russell and Evrie Banks.

Marsha served her country with honor and dedication in the United States Army and later in both the Army and Naval Reserves. Following her military service, she continued to serve her community as a rural mail carrier with the United States Postal Service, a position from which she retired after many years of faithful service.

A woman of unwavering love and compassion, Marsha lived her life with a loving and generous spirit. She loved unconditionally, never met a stranger, and had a gift for making others feel welcomed and valued. Her joy was evident in everything she did, whether through her warm hospitality, her wonderful cooking, or her deep enjoyment of gardening. She was a devoted member of Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church. Her faith shaped the way she lived and cared for others.

Despite facing health challenges, Marsha never let them dim her vibrant spirit. She approached each day with gratitude, resilience, and a zest for life that inspired those around her. Her legacy is one of love, strength, and kindness.

Marsha was a devoted wife and a loving mother. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers: John, R.B., Harry, Fred, and Joe Banks; and two sisters: Mary Tarber and Shirlene Hoffman.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Howard Harrell; sons, James Gullett of Hughes Springs and Phillip Gullett of Van; three brothers, Jerry, Larry, and Bruce Banks; sister, Judy Longsworth; and a host of extended family and dear friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.
