Marsha Meadows Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Directors on Sep. 17, 2025.
Marsha Meadows April 17, 1952 – September 14, 2025 Marsha Meadows, 73, of Sorrento, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025. Born in Warren, Pennsylvania, Marsha made Florida her home beginning June 1, 1988, where she lived for 37 years and built a life full of purpose, creativity, and compassion. Marsha began her professional journey as a lawyer in Warren, PA, before transitioning into real estate as a broker in Lake County, Florida. Her heart, however, was always drawn to service and education. She spent six years working in a group home for adults with disabilities before dedicating 22 years to teaching children with special needs in Lake County Schools and later at Holy Trinity Episcopal School. Her work in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) was marked by deep empathy, innovation, and a tireless commitment to her students. Even after retiring, she returned to teaching in 2018 at a private school for special needs students, continuing to make a difference in young lives. Marsha was a proud member of the Florida Education Association (FEA) and was known for her incredible talent in crafting and creating. She loved to embroider and crochet, often making elaborate decorations for her classrooms-like a five-foot-tall bonfire crafted from butcher paper, chicken wire, and Christmas lights. Her creativity was matched only by her wit and intelligence. She was always quick with a joke and had an answer for every question, instilling a love of learning in her daughter and countless students. She was married to Clinton Meadows on February 5, 1984, in Sugar Grove, PA, and although they divorced in 1989, she maintained a respectful and caring relationship with him until his passing in 2011. Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, Steven and Marian Mikrut; her ex-husband, Clinton Meadows; and leaves behind a loving family: her daughter Tracey Meadows, son-in-law Chauncey Johnson III, brother Mark Mikrut, sister-in-law Vicky Mikrut, and her beloved cat and constant companion, Pixie. To know Marsha was to know someone truly special. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the students she inspired, and the love she gave so freely. In accordance with her wishes, no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions or grocery cards are appreciated. A GoFundMe link will be provided for those who wish to contribute. https://gofund.me/e08a315b5
