Marshall McElveen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel on Dec. 17, 2025.
Marshall Calvin McElveen was born on August 26, 1959, and passed from this life on December 14, 2025.
Marshall brought light into every room he entered. He never met a stranger and was deeply loved by all who knew him. His easy smile, warm sense of humor, and genuine kindness immediately put others at ease.
As a telemetry technician, Marshall interacted with people every day, and his friendly disposition made a lasting impression on patients, coworkers, and supervisors alike. He was well respected, well liked, and took great pride and joy in his work.
Marshall had a love for travel and proudly visited 30 different states. Wherever he went, he made a point to explore local antique shops, always on the hunt for unique glassware and pottery to add to his cherished collection.
Forty years ago, Marshall met the love of his life, Alvin, during a serendipitous encounter at a Houston Pride event. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless treasured memories, shared alongside several beloved dogs. Marshall was a gentle, sweet-tempered man with a big heart, devoted to caring for his husband. In recent years, they discovered a fondness for cats as well.
Marshall's love of life, spirit of adventure, and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. He is survived by his loving husband, Alvin, along with numerous dear family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved "Granny."
