It seems like thousands of years ago, he was a neighbor and he'd take me up with him when he did the Spy-In-The-Sky traffic reports! Well that world is gone and his pretty incredible ride has come to an end!

Marshall was a kind and wonderful man who served as a mentor for my son when he helped him launch a radio segment on Robinhood Radio when my son was still in high school. He will be missed by many.

I first met Miles when I worked at Silo Ridge golf course. I recently discovered him on Robinhood radio and listened to the Breakfast Club every morning for the last year or so. I knew he was sick and found out today that he has passed. So sad. I miss his voice and wit. I can't listen to the BBC in his place. The cruelest thing about life is that it must end. We passed a few emails in the last few months and I was praying for his recovery. My prayers went unanswered. RIP Marshall. I hope you knew how many people loved you. I am one of them.

I had the honor and pleasure of working with Marshall in the early 90´s, at WQQQ in Lakeville. He taught me not only everything I know about radio, but how to play (and love) the game of golf, which we would do many days after the morning show was over. He was an amazingly talented yet humble, down-to-earth person, who will be missed more than he would ever have imagined. May he rest in peace, after his "job well done".
Sincerest condolences to the entire Miles family.

The mornings are too quiet now. Everything to know about this tri-corner area, Marshall brought us in his ever positive, friendly voice. We were enlightened. The news and weather, chats with Pat, special guests connected us all. These small things become big things when they are gone. He was something special and we were lucky to have known him.

My dear friend, Marshall truly taught me everything I know about radio broadcasting. We worked together as the first team for the new station WKZE and what a wild ride! Dale Jones and Warren Gregory, Judy Gregory and Ann Longly, Dave Leonard and a host of characters made WKZE an amazing community station.... but our leader was Marshall. His unique understanding of what matters, his skill at recording and broadcasting, his sandy yet smooth voice made the airwaves welcoming to all. I have countless stories of our adventures together from live remotes at car dealerships to baseball games to high school plays, WKZE and Marshall Miles was there!
My favorite story is the time we were recording an interview with then Governor Lowell Weicker and Harrison Salisbury for the NYTimes. We were in the stunning home of the station owners at a large dining room table seated were the Governor, Mr Salisbury and the interviewer for the times. Adjusting his chair to sit, Mr Weicker unknowingly unplugged his microphone from the master control under the table. With minutes to go before start time, Marshall looked at me, in my red silk dress and said "you gotta do this, now I can't get under the table, you have to plug him back in .. now." It was a time when Marshall was at his heaviest he surely could not get under the table. So I took off my black pumps and headed to the far end where I could possibly not be noticed ducking under the table. Then in ground commando form I crawled to the cord and reconnected. Marshall gave me the thumbs I retreated and nonchalantly stood up and walked back to my post. I loved that man.
I know he is peaceful and I hope he knows how much he is appreciated for immeasurable contribution. Good Speed old friend. xo SW
