PALM DESERT - Marta Keil Dailey (Mahoney), 87, of Palm Desert, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, November 20, 2020. Marta was born August 14, 1933, daughter of Henry and Olive Keil. She graduated from (Riv- erside Polytechnic High School) and went on to graduate from UCLA with a degree in English. She married Michael J. Mahoney in (August 22, 1956). During their marriage, they traveled extensively and lived in Japan where they had their first child. They went on to have seven children together. He preceded her in death on September 29th of 1982. She later married John Dailey and retired in Palm Desert. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2012. Marta enjoyed skiing, playing tennis and cook- ing. She also dedicated time to the Upland As- sistance League and was also involved in P.E.O., a philanthropic organization where women cel- ebrate the advancement of women through ed- ucation. She is survived by her children: Anne-Marie Hein, Mary Schumacher (James), Michael James Mahoney Jr. (Barbara), Megan Mahoney and Deirdre Miller (Robert); grandchildren, Richelle Zakrewski, Laura Zakrewski, Michael Landis, Kyle Hein, Kelly Hein, Jack Mahoney, Kayla Mahoney and Katie Fitzgerald. She is also survived by her brother Henry Keil Jr. III and sisters Susan K. Evans-Lombe, Nancy Keil Greenfield and Jane Keil Billingsly. She was also preceded in death by her daughters, Kathleen Keil Landis, and Marta Mahoney. Marta will be interred at Queen of Heaven Cem- etery in Rowland Heights, California and the family will hold a private ceremony in her honor at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Research Foundation of your choice.
