Flemington, NJ – Marta DelGobbo, 71, passed away at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington on December 28, 2023 after a sudden illness. Born in Morristown to the late Very Rev. Joseph Panasiuk and Natalia Bluj, Marta grew up in Whippany, was a graduate of Seton Hall, NJIT in Newark and lived in Nutley while she began her career with Nynex (formerly known as NJ Bell and currently as Verizon.)
Marta resided in Mahwah before her husband's transfer to Miami, then Kansas City and as dreamed, back to NJ in 2015. She was an Engineer and Architect in her professional life but enjoyed spending time as a concert level pianist. She taught piano, spoke seven languages including Latin and was an amazing gourmet cook.
She could be found singing at the church choir, had an exquisite collection of everything Ukrainian and her own cross-stitch work but above all things, she loved her husband Joe and chose that as her new career.
Marta leaves behind her husband Joseph DelGobbo whom joined hands in marriage in 1995 as well as the Panasiuk family; brother Lou, his wife Christina and their children; Alexandra, Andrew and his wife Cindi and the Bluj family; cousin Boris, his wife Anne, their son Andrew, his wife Anna, and their son Chris. She will also be missed by her extended family and friends she has made throughout her travels in life.
At the request and wish of Joseph, Marta will be brought to Michigan and will be buried at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights, MI where she will join other members of the family.
A 9:30am gathering will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian-Greek Catholic Church in Dearborn, MI with a 10:00am funeral liturgy to follow. Burial will follow with her family at St. Hedwig Cemetery, also in Dearborn, MI.
NJ professional services have been entrusted to Middlesex Funeral Home (www.MiddlesexFuneralHome.com) and MI professional services are entrusted to Voran Funeral Home (www.VoranFuneralHome.com.)
