Marta Franco, 77, Passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024. Marta was born in El Paso and was a proud El Pasoan all her life. She graduated from Jefferson High School and received a Bachelor of Science Education from UTEP.
Marta was a Fort Bliss civil servant for forty-six years retiring in 2010. The last seven years of her career were concurrent with administering caregiving duties for our mother and uncle. Which was no small feat.
Acute myeloid leukemia met its match with Marta as she continued living much longer that the life expectancy of this cancer. Marta continued living her life as she had always done “on her terms”.
Marta is preceded in death by her parents Jose and Juana Franco and uncle Francisco Perez. Leaves behind her brother Jose F. Franco (Licha); sisters Emma F. Castro (Pete-Deceased) ; Josie Franco Alvarado (Ruben) and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, Monday, February 12, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 1:00 PM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1050 N. Clark. Interment will follow at 2:15 PM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza.
