Martha Brock Obituary

Martha Ann (O'Banion) Brock

South Royalton, VT - Martha Ann (O'Banion) Brock, 55, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, after a long and courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer.

Martha was born on June 22, 1970, at Alice Peck Day Hospital, in Lebanon, New Hampshire. She was the daughter of Rodrick "Marty" and Linda Henderson O'Banion.

Martha attended Hartland Elementary School in the early 1980s and went on to graduate from Hartford High School in 1988. While in high school, she excelled at the Hartford Area Career and Technology Center (HACTC) in the small business and accounting program. She was also a member of the field hockey team, played the flute in the high school band, and worked at Rich's Department Store as a cashier and clerk-balancing academics, extracurriculars, and work with determination well beyond her years.

Her vocation as a mother began in 1989 with the birth of her twin sons, Blake and Derek, and continued in 1994 with the birth of her son, Devin. Martha loved her boys fiercely and devoted her life to raising them.

Martha defied the odds as a young mother, raising her children largely on her own. Throughout her professional life, she held leadership and management roles, most notably as a Supervisor and Executive Leader at King Arthur Baking Company in Norwich, Vermont. She was deeply respected and admired by colleagues for her strong work ethic, integrity, and compassion.

Among her many accomplishments-including earning a degree from Harvard-Martha was especially proud of a recent honor she received during King Arthur Baking Company's "Knighting" ceremony, where she was named "Lady Martha - Queen of Purchasing, Master of Inventory, and Grand Empress of Sourcing Systems" in recognition of her 20 years of dedicated service.

Above all else, Martha's greatest passion was her family. She cherished her role as "Grammy" to her six grandchildren: Keegan, Arthur, Ruthie, Grace, Eloise, and Spencer. Spending time with her "littles" brought her the greatest joy and filled her heart completely.

Martha also enjoyed hunting trips to Illinois with her brother, Mark, and her husband. Her crossbow hunting skills helped her harvest two impressive bucks-an accomplishment she was incredibly proud of. She was deeply grateful for the memories created during these trips and the special bond they represented.

She cherished the relationship she shared with her sister and best friend, Sonia, whom she lovingly referred to as her "secret keeper." Martha felt fortunate to grow up together and share life's trials and triumphs side by side.

Martha's lifelong friendships were among her greatest gifts. She often expressed deep gratitude for the unconditional love, comfort, and support she received from Tricia, Pete, Tammy, and Will. Saturday nights by the fire, filled with laughter, antics, and time spent under the big maple tree in the backyard, were among her most treasured memories.

Martha was truly one of a kind. She loved her tribe deeply and will be remembered for her unwavering love, fierce loyalty, and devotion to her family and friends.

Martha was predeceased by her parents, Rodrick and Linda O'Banion.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Brock of South Royalton, Vermont-whom she often said was the best man to come into her life; her three sons, Blake Isaacs (wife Hannah) of Highgate, Vermont, Derek Isaacs of Tennessee, and Devin Isaacs of Lebanon, New Hampshire; her stepdaughter, Eben Brock (wife Shannon) of South Royalton, Vermont; her brother, Mark O'Banion (wife Tess) of Nantucket, Massachusetts; her sister, Sonia O'Banion of Wilder, Vermont; her Auntie Carol Kendall of Wilder, Vermont; and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Knight Funeral Home on Saturday, February 21st from 4-6PM. A graveside service will be held in the Branchview Cemetery in South Royalton on June 20, 2026.
