Martha Frances Byrd, 96, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in Slidell.

Martha was born November 22, 1929, in Preston, Mississippi, to Gene and Anna Luke.

In 1947 she married Lynn E. Byrd in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and moved to New Orleans. In 1962 the couple moved to Slidell, from Chalmette, where they had lived or many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn E. Byrd; six sisters and three brothers.

Martha is survived by two children, Linda Karl (Louis), Toni Stearns-Brauwn (Gregg); six grandchildren, Amber Caudillo (Sam), Brandi Alexander, Alex Alexander, Michael Stearns (Angela), Emily Stearns-Couvillion (Shaun), Elizabeth Dickerson (Tom); ten great-grandchildren, Matthew Caudillo (Sarah), Meagan Caudillo, Brooke Rogers (Russ), Joe Alexander (Courtney), Mike Stearns, Cassidy Stearns (Allen Macuick Jr), Faith Boudreaux ( Gavin), Ava Dickerson, Thomas Dickerson, John Couvillion; nine great-great-grandchildren, Trenton Rogers, Lukas Rogers, Colton Rogers, Blaize Stearns, Carter Alexander, Bennett Alexander, Drew Alexander, Everliegh Boudreaux, Lynleigh Stearns; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell LA 70460, on Friday, December 5, 2025.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
