Erin Chase, age 47, of Hastings, Michigan, passed away on February 4, 2026, in her home, surrounded by family. She was born on October 27, 1978, in Lansing, Michigan, to Bradley Vrooman and Martha Spatrisano-Mailand.

She is survived by her husband, Jeffery Chase; her children, Kaylie (Luis) Cano, Alayna Torres, and Rylan Chase; her cherished granddaughter, Sophia Cano.

She is also survived by her mother, Martha (John) Spatrisano-Mailand, her father, Bradley (Lou Ann) Vrooman; her grandmother, Beverly Mailand; her parents-in-law, Dallas and Shirley Chase; her grandmother-in-law, Delores “Tillie” Kilgore; her siblings Jennifer (Jesse) Harlow, David (April) Vrooman, and Ryan (Kristen) Vrooman; and her beloved nieces and nephews.

Erin found joy in spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, camping, kayaking, and caring for her beloved animals. She will be remembered for her kind heart, strong spirit, caring nature, and for her fiery spirit and sense of humor that never faded.

Her life will be honored privately by those who loved her, and no public services will be held.

Though our hearts are broken, we are forever grateful for the deep love she shared and the memories that will stay with us always. Erin’s love will continue to live on through the family she cherished, the lives she touched, and the imprint she left on the hearts of those who knew her.

“Mom, your hands shaped our lives, and your love shaped who we are. We will walk forward carrying everything you gave us.”
