Martha Ellen Chatman
December 22, 1952 – November 16, 2025
Martha Ellen Chatman (Metts) was born on December 22, 1952 in Tallahassee, FL to Daniel and Evelyn Metts and God called her home on November 16 2025 at her home in McKinney, TX. She moved a few times but ultimately grew up in Macon, GA. She was the oldest of her three siblings. Martha was married to Rayfield Chatman in 1973 in Atlanta, GA. Ray went home in 2010. Together Martha and Ray had 4 children and 8 grandchildren.
Martha was blessed by God to have an eye for painting and sketching. She spent many afternoons sketching anything from birds, mountains, trees and cats. She enjoyed water colors and many of her sketches turned in to magnificent paintings. Martha’s nickname was Big Chicken as she was the mother hen to all her kids and grandkids. She was an avid lover of cats and has had a multitude of them. She called them her friends.
We all miss our mom, our sister, our grandma. She is dancing with Ray in heaven. We are sad she isn’t here but we will see her in our real home again.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her four children Marguerite (Titus), Aaron (Michelle), Chris (Melanie), and Mike (Carolyn); her sisters, Catherine and Meg; her 8 grandchildren, Alicia, Ellie, Michael, Samson, Daniel, Titus Jr., Benjamin, and Corbin.
