I never had the pleasure of meeting my Grandma Lucy but Great Aunt Martha shared so many wonderful stories. You could feel the love whenever you were around her. My last visit with her we had just eaten before we arrived. She wouldn't take no for an answer when we politely declined an early supper. She gathered fresh spring onions from her garden outside and whipped up spaghetti in a flash almost as if she knew we were coming. My Uncle Darryl and I sat with her and talked for hours about family and stories about my dad(Christopher) and how happy she was that I was able to visit. She commented on my beauty and how much I looked like her sister Lucy. My passion for family history and gardening come from her. She proudly showed me around her home to see her garden and her seedlings she had started. I am so terribly sorry to hear of her passing. It has been quite some time since that visit but I think of my memories and hold them dear to my heart. I'll never forget Uncle Wayne driving us around the lake as children, while she waved from the shore. I find comfort in knowing she is reunited with our loved ones whom have already left this earth. I can only dream of being half the woman this angel was. Sending all of my love to the family.
