Martha Hammond Obituary
She was sealed to Hugh Darvel Hammond on September 6, 1961 in the Salt Lake City temple. They loved each other dearly. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by her brother, David Mackay (Vicki) and her five children: Maynard Hammond (Jill), Jennifer Anderson (David), Julia Merrill (Glen), Matthew Hammond (Jennifer), and Sara Baugh (Gifford). Family was everything to her. She was an incredible mother. She has 21 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren with more on the way.
Martha loved to serve and help others. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved to read and do crafts. She was often found sewing quilts with friends or reading a good book.
A visitation will be held Saturday, June 12th from 10:30 -11:30 at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center in Logan. Martha's last request was that she have a private family graveside service.
Her family wants to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. Mark Huffman, Natalya from Hospice, Maple Springs, Irene and all her good friends.

Martha was my best friend when she lived in Salt Lake City. She was a beautiful person. I just spoke to her recently and she seemed fine. She lived a good life. I am sure she will be happy to join her husband.

My acquaintance began as a child. I remember vaguely my father (their bishop in Santa Monica, Calif) attending to her father´s passing in an accident of sorts. I knew Martha through our primary years until they moved to Utah. Matha withstood many unknown crushes from the boys in Primary. Her mother Sally was our Wonderful Primary teacher. All suffered for a brief time when they moved to Utah. I personally and briefly was able to meet her and her Husband unexpectedly in Montana when my wife and I visited the Custer´s battlefield in Montana, on our way to serve in the Air Force at Minot, North Dakota. I must say with a speck of alteration that I have had her image in my mind since our first meeting as children to our brief visit then and now in this announcement that to me her visage has not changed at all. A beautiful and loved person, mother and grandmother.
