Ms Howe was one of the loveliest persons I knew. I had the honor of growing up in Savannah and got to know her from my days of also growing up at St. Michael and All Angels. I have many great memories of Ms Howe. She knew how to throw a party and she always made the BEST flower arrangements as I always envied them, especially when she would bring her famous roses to church (I always wanted one and she always let me have one and later I made sure to plant bushes myself at my parents house so I could have some of my own and show them to her). My mother always told me how Ms Howe was one of the first two people that she met at the church when she had moved to Savannah after college and for her first job and the church was the only one she visited as Ms Howe made her feel right at home. My fondest memory was a very personal one.....Ms Howe and my grandmother, Margie Gruver, were great friends. I didn't blink an eye when Ms Howe agreed to help with the reception at the church when my grandmother died. I brought photos and dropped them off and when we came back from the cemetery, she had a wonderful arrangement of her life and what a beautiful party it was all the way down to the flowers :). I know that Ms Howe, my grandmother and one more of their friends, Edna Thompson are certainly throwing their own party right now. May she rest in peace and prayers go out to the family. St. Michael's has lost a wonderful person and there will be a big void with her gone.

I was one of the many young people that grew up in Fairfax, SC and the Brewer home was always open for parties and or dances. Martha Jo was a very dear friend as were the other three children of the Brewer family. Many wonderful memories. My sadness is very deep in your lost.
