Martha Henley Jackson

Martha Henley Jackson died on May 5, 2024. Martha was born May 3, 1930, in Linville, Avery Co., NC. She was the daughter of Don and Agnes Henley. Martha was also predeceased by her Henley brothers; Don, Jr., David, Rufus, Nathan, Chris; and sister, Dorcus Bortolamedi. Martha's husband, John Jackson, died in January, 2021. Martha's granddaughter, Lara Teague Curry, died in October, 2022.
Martha is survived by her son, David Teague (Barbara); granddaughter, Lindsay Teague Blackwell (John); great-grandchildren, Jack Curry, George Curry and Rowena Blackwell, all of Richmond, VA. She is also survived by step-daughter, Brenda Hunt, of Ponte Vedra, FL, step-grandson Noel Wurst (Kelly), and step-great-grandsons, Noel, Boone and Shea, all of Jacksonville, FL. Additionally, Martha is survived by her siblings, Pete Henley (Mary Helen), Dan Henley (Jan), Mary Gaddy, Esther Henley and Priscilla Myers (Carl), along with many nieces and nephews.
A service will be held in the chapel of First Presbyterian Church on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Martha's memory may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 40 Church Street, Asheville, NC 28801.
