FARMINGTON – Martha Rae Jarrell, of Farmington, entered into eternal rest on July 30, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 70. She was born on December 26, 1951, in Esther, Missouri to the late Walter and Nadine (Decker) Ransom. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Ransom and her sister, Carolyn "Sue" Moore.
Martha is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ronnie Jarrell, her children, Melissa "Missy" (Dennis) Stevens of Farmington and Jennifer (Thomas Boyer) Jarrell of Farmington, her grandchildren, Brooke (Josh) Granda, Dillon (Tessa) Hamm, Alexis (David) Choate, Trenton Chapman, and Talon Chapman, her great grandchildren, Kyler Granda, Paisley Choate, and Violet Choate, her siblings, Charles (Carolyn) Ransom of Arnold and Anna (Terry) Carroll of Desloge, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Martha worked at Rosener's Restaurant as a cook and manager for over twenty years; she was known as one of the best cooks in the county. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Martha was a very giving, selfless person who would do anything for anyone. She was funny, full of sass and was tough as nails. She was dedicated to her family and adored her grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to Serenity Hospice, 5272 Flat River Road, Park Hills, MO 63601. The family would like to express their appreciation for the amazing compassion and care they received from Colleen and Patti with Serenity Hospice.
