I was so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. Although the years and miles caused us to be distant, she has always remained a special lady to me. Our friendship goes back to the 70/80s with great memories. She was always there for me during a time in my life that I really needed someone and i will always be thankful. She was a great friend to all that knew her. Everyone had great times with her at her home where it was open to all who knew her. I will never forget her! You and your familes are and will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Wayne, Mike, and Jarrett Families:
Martha was an amazing person -- she was like a sister to my mother for many years in Hanahan (and even when my parents moved to Savannah). Martha did so much for the Hanahan community, just like her husband Chester -- helping sports teams, bands, the schools, etc. Peace be with all of the Jarrett families. Martha left a lot of her love and fond memories with us all!
What a special person over the years as a friend to Elsie/Frank Crossley, almost like an aunt to Neil and me, and such a loving person always checking on the Crossley family children.
We had such super memories of outings with her -- from selling Krispy Kreme donuts in the late 1950's to late 1960's, from her making fantastic tasty coleslaw for BBQ's, to going out to eat at places like the Trawler, Linebergers, Hilliards, etc., church at Yeamans Park, and, going to ball games of Wayne's & Gary's.
May Martha's memories live with us forever,
Gary

Dear Charon and Mike,
I want you to know how bad I feel for you and your family learning of Martha's passing. I had to decide whether or not to call her "Martha" here, but that is what we teens called her growing up in Hanahan. I remember that we all felt so comfortable in her company. I always loved her screened in front porch. It was absolutely so cool that Mike was able to live on Moore street just down the road from his Mother, all the while, entertaining his friends. She was the best. Wayne was a little young to hang with us, but like his Mother, he was always smiling. Again, I am so sorry for your loss, as I know she will be sorely missed. Love, Margaret
