Barnes Funeral Homes, Inc. - EatonMartha M. (Valiquette) Jones, 80 of Eaton, Gasper Township, Ohio went to be with the Lord Saturday, August 30, 2025, at her residence. Born on May 11, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Leonard L. & Marcella B. (Gast) Valiquette. She was a 1963 graduate of Patterson Coop High School in Dayton.
Marty retired from H & R Block in Eaton and was a former medical assistant for Dr. Terry Hunt in Oxford, Ohio. She was a devout member of Visitation of the BVM Catholic Church in Eaton, where she served as a past Director of Religious Education, was an organizer of the Parish Council and member of the St. Anne Sodality. She enjoyed volunteering for the Red Cross in the 1970’s and 80’s but her greatest joy came from sharing her faith, and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband of 54 years, David A. Jones, Jr. in 2018; brothers, Lawrence L. Valiquette in 1942, Alfred L. Valiquette in 1988, and Bernard C. Valiquette in 2000 and her sister, Jacqueline Smith in 1993.
Survived by children: David A. (Vicki S.) Jones, III of Eaton, OH; John P. (Sharon L.) Jones and Patrick M. (Tami) Jones, both of Camden, OH; Casey E. (Mandy) Jones of Eutawville, S.C. and Kimberly (Gregory) Horwedel of Plant City, Florida; 17 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren; sister: Beverly Fullmer of West Milton and brother: George D. Valiquette of Troy, OH. Many Nieces and Nephews and Cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main St., Eaton, OH. Rosary service will be 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday September 4, 2025, at Visitation of the BVM Catholic Church, 407 E. Main Street, Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Jim Romanello presiding. Interment will be held in Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria, OH.
