Martha Lee Atkins Kidder, age 94, of Columbus, MS, passed away December 10, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be Friday, December 13, 2024, at 1:30 PM at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. Glenn Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM prior to the graveside service at Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mrs. Kidder was born March 10, 1930, in Lamar County, AL, to the late Mayo H. and Estelle Pritchett Atkins and was a graduate of Millport High School. She was a member of the former Central United Methodist Church of Columbus. Mrs. Kidder was the co-owner and administrator of W. R. Kidder & Son for many years and enjoyed her grandchildren, traveling, gardening, and bird watching. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W. R. Kidder, Jr., daughter-in-law, Shirley Kidder, sister, Patricia McCullough, and brothers Dan Atkins and Joe Atkins
Survivors include her sons, W. R. "Bill" Kidder, III (Denise), and Kenneth Lee "Kenny" Kidder (Paula), both of Columbus, MS, sisters, Mary Ann Plyler of Columbus, MS, and Kay Robertson of Millport, AL, grandchildren, Leigh Ann Stovall (Foster), Richard Kidder (Shelly), Lindsay Price (Jason), and Brad Kidder (Celia), great grandchildren, Anna Kidder, Kyler Kidder, Marin Price, Lee Thomas Price, Hudson Kidder, Owen Stovall, and Logan Lindsay, and great great grandchildren, Grady Kidder and Branten Kidder.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN, 38105, and Shriners Hospital for Children, 3100 Samford Ave. Shreveport, LA 71103.
