Mrs. Martha Faye Memory, age 81 of the Kibbee Community of Montgomery County passed away at her home on Sunday afternoon, August 17, 2025.

Born in Savannah, she was the daughter of the late Robert Earl Underwood and Kenny and Laura Bell Horton Bellflower. She was raised in Soperton where she attended Soperton High School. Faye worked in several textile mills and at TG & Y throughout the 70s and 80s. She retired from Andy's Home Center in Lyons after 15 years, when her grandson was born. After retiring, she devoted the next five wonderful years to caring for her grandchildren. In 2008, she joined T. A. Blocker's General Store in Kibbee and became the face that everyone expecting to greet them until she became ill in May of 2025.

She was a faithful member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and volunteered wherever she was needed.

Faye will be remembered for her love of The Lord, her spit-fire spirit, her tremendous work ethic, her generosity and her kindness to friends, outcasts and strangers. She will also be remembered for her striking beauty; especially her trademark hair.

Miss Faye will always be remembered and missed by her family, friends and most anyone she ever met. She was unforgettable.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Underwood, son, Joe Memory, nephews, Derek Payne and Randall Payne, Brian and Bryant Gay and a brother in law, Benny Hammock.

She leaves behind her children, Richard Sumner, Kibbee Community, GA, William Tracy Sumner (Brenda), Yulee, FL, Kay Memory, Kibbee Community, GA and Heather Memory Williams (Curt), Tarrytown, GA; grandchildren, J. B. Sumner and Will Sumner, Hahira, GA, Sydney Rake, St. Augustine, FL, Hilton Williams and Tatum Williams, Tarrytown, GA; her former husband and friend, J. H. Memory and the Memory family; her siblings, Florence Lawson, Pembroke, GA, Sadie Walden, Santee, SC, Dorothy Young (Dervin Brantley), Helena, GA, Sue Hammock, Rockledge, GA and numerous nieces, nephews and many, many friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, outside Tarrytown, in the Kibbee Community with Pastor Josh Denton and Reverend Mark Sweat officiating.

Miss Faye will be laid to rest in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Richard Sumner, Tracy Sumner, J. B. Sumner, Curt Williams, Hilton Williams and Triston Tharpe.

Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, at the church, from 1:00 o'clock p. m. until the hour of service.
