Martha Nearing Obituary
Born Jan. 17, 1941, in Bradford, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Ida (Tyger) Simons. Martha was a 1959 graduate of Bradford High School.
Martha moved to El Paso in 1962, where she would build a life filled with love, adventure and many cherished memories. She enjoyed her youth as a Girl Scout, loved running away to the mountains in Ruidoso, New Mexico, loved planting flowers, and especially treasured spending time with her family. Martha's kindness, warmth and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her sparkle and legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Surviving are three children, Robin, Paul and Stephanie; grandchildren Wesley, Kaygan and Kyle, David and Jeremy and Chyanne and Shannon; great-grandchildren Bianca, McKenzie, Zayden, Ryland, Giovanni and Oryn; two brothers, John D. Simons and Frederick Simons; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; brother, Thomas Simons; grandson Shane; and great-grandson Xander.
Family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Monday (March 24, 2025) at Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 33 South Ave., where funeral services will immediately follow with the Rev. Jay Tennies, pastor of Bradford Cooperative Ministries, officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Very sorry to learn of Cousin Martha's passing. Many fond memories from years gone by. Our condolences and prayers to her entire family. Surely she will be missed by all who knew her.
