Marti was both a mentor and colleague during my radiology training and when I was on staff at Georgetown. She carved out her career and earned the respect of her referring physicians and appreciation of her colleagues. She was generous as a colleague, and had high expectations of herself and others she worked with. Her marriage to Wayne was legendary among those who knew her, and they were both so fortunate to have had each other. To some, she was appeared to have many contradictions - but I think she just lived a very full and proud life. She was a strong role model, especially to other women radiologists. thank you for all Marti.

Marty, was a mentor to me during my radiology residency. She was a trail blazer in musculoskeletal MRI. She was very gritty having come through the medical system when there were not many women especially in Radiology. And not having a lot of financial security early in her marriage. I admired her intellect and drive. She did not have to work but she did and she worked hard.
Im sorry I lost touch with her when I moved but I kept tabs on her through my ILO friends. I knew when Wayne passed she would not do well. Rarely does one see a match and marriage like theirs. It was special.
Goodbye my friend. I know you and Wayne are happy to be reunited.
