Martha Padgett

Martha Griffin Padgett, 83, of Waynesburg, KY passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Born on March 22, 1942 in Stanford to the late Clarence and Lizzie Martin Griffin. She worked and retired from Cowden's Manufacturing in Danville, KY and was a member of Calvary Tabernacle.
Survivors include her loving husband, Richard Padgett; two daughters, Pauline Hall and Lavon Penman (Steven); two stepsons, Tommy Padgett (Lisa) and Tony Padgett (Joann); one stepdaughter, Terry Padgett; one brother, Eddie Griffin; two sisters, Freida Coleman (Roy) and Gladys Naylor; six grandchildren, Jonathan Hall, Melissa Hall, Timothy Hall, Renee Johnson, Matthew Johnson and Todd Hall; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles J. Foley; parents, Clarence and Lizzie Griffin; eight siblings, Maxine Scharbrough, Barbara Ann Foley, Gracie Phillips, Jack Griffin, Bill Griffin, Vernon Griffin, Millard "Doodle" Griffin; and one great-great-grandchild, Kaysen Hall; and one son-in-law, Eddie Hall.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Junior Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers are Jonathan Hall, Timothy Hall, Todd Hall, Matthew Johnson, Hunter Johnson and Aaron Johnson.
Honorary Pallbearers are Johnnie Stevens and Mark Yocum.
