Martha Ellen Stapleton

Martha Stapleton Obituary Martha "Marty" Stapleton, age 94, passed into her loving Lord and Savior's arms on July 18, 2025, in the care of Grace Village Assisted Living in Winona Lake, Indiana. She was born on February 11, 1931, in Cadiz, Ohio, to James Mitchell and Ruth (Adams) Mitchell.
She and her husband, William "Bill", were married on April 28, 1951, and had 64 years together before he passed away in 2015. Martha was the mother to Michael (Laurie), Deborah (Rick) Glass, and Linda (David) Koontz. She was blessed with ten grandchildren and thirty-seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond Mitchell and Glenn Mitchell.
In addition to being loved by her family, Martha made many friends over her lifetime. She had a very close group when she lived in the Cleveland, Ohio area that enjoyed many activities together. After her move to Grace Village in Winona Lake in the fall of 2024, she quickly made friends with many of the residents and staff. Her humor and appreciation for others endeared her to many.
Martha's life will be celebrated with a memorial service on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Grace Village Assisted Living Activities Room, 337 Grace Village Drive, Winona Lake, Indiana, conducted by Grace Village Chaplain Bryan Benjamin-a reception to follow. Friends and family, along with residents and staff of Grace Village, are invited to attend both the service and reception.
Interment will be at a future date at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland, Ohio. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
